Now that my own kids are entering (or continuing through) this life stage, I see even more how important it is to continue photograph your family through their teen years - and yet maybe not as easy. I find my photographs are less candid these days and more event focused. Capturing their natural smiles and genuine personalities in every day settings isn't always as easy as it was when they were younger - or maybe I'm not as intentional about it as I was then. Either way, as I work to capture those natural smiles and candid moments for clients with teens, I'm reminding I want to set my camera out more - for these formal moments and for when they crocheting on the couch or curled up with a favorite book.
