One thing I so appreciate about many of families I photograph is that they totally get the fact that it is still important to keep photographing their families even after their young children have grown into teenagers.  It's true that teenagers don't always love having their photograph taken but in my photo sessions, I focus on connections and trying to help families just enjoy being together rather than stiffly smiling at the camera. I might use movement to help your teens relax like taking a walk together or I might encourage you to just have a conversation together about something you enjoy doing as a family. I totally remember how awkward I felt being in photos (and truthfully, still do) so my goal is to try and help your teens relax and be themselves as much as possible.
