My husband walks in during my work meetings occasionally (thanks Covid and remote learning) and he says we are ALWAYS talking about our feelings. He's not wrong. As we talked about self care today I was thinking about how much I appreciate my photography business because it is a great source of fun for me where I can just forget about whatever stress might be on my mind and focus on the people I'm with. Plus when I hear back from families, almost always moms, that they love their photos or I've captured their kiddos personalities, or they appreciated or enjoyed the time with their families while we were together, I know I've brought them joy and that is even better.  

I am incredibly grateful for my clients, particularly my clients who keep coming back year and after year and trusting me to capture their family's connections because honestly, it's just fun and refreshing for me. And even though I'm having pretty significant shoulder issues right now and struggle to drive home after every shoot and my husband keeps asking me when I'm going to stop, I just keep saying, "When the season is over," because I can't imagine giving it up. 

So when Stephanie reached out and said, "Can we try photos IN the water this year?", I was like, "Um yes!" Because that just sounded like a good time. And I must say, it was quite entertaining. Note for future planning: The rocks are rather slippery...ha!
