BEST LOCATIONS FOR SENIOR PHOTOS IN VANCOUVER, WA

After choosing your photographer, deciding on what to wear and where to go are the two biggest decisions you'll make. 

Here are some tips to help you decide on the best location for your Senior photo session. 

• Do you have a favorite place? Maybe it's a place you spend a lot of time with friends, enjoying the outdoors? A place you will feel relaxed and "at home." 
• On the other hand, are there places you really dislike? Hate the feel of tall grass or maybe you're allergic to bees? 
• Having a variety of options in one location or very close by locations saves time driving if you would like to incorporate more than one different backdrops into your session.

Here are the different types of locations or backdrops available for your photo session:

FIELD

I have several fields I shoot in, depending on the time of year. A couple of them have a garden near by and one even has a water nearby. If you choose field as your location, we'll decide together which one is the best option, depending on the time of year and time of the session, based on the light.

GARDEN/ORCHARD

There are a couple of great gardens in Vancouver that both have an orchard and field right nearby. Beautiful locations for photos filled with color and tons of variety in your photos.

RIVERS/BEACH

We have a lot of sandy/rocky beach areas in Clark County that make beautiful backdrops at sunset.  Up until sunset, most can be pretty bright so we usually save these photos until the end of our session on sunny days.

MOUNTAIN (about 50 min outside of Vancouver)

I absolutely adore this location and I only take a few people here each year because it is a long trip. It can be quite windy but if you are up for the adventure, the views are absolutely gorgeous. It's an easy walk with a variety of "looks." And I suppose technically you aren't "on a mountain" or "in the mountains" but it's a much more mountain feel than anything we get in Vancouver!

PARK WITH TREES

Of course there are just beautiful trees all around us and if that's what you're looking for, we can definitely find them! I have several parks or park-like locations that I photograph regularly with beautiful trees, especially in the fall.

URBAN

Okay, as urban as it gets in downtown Vancouver. Tops of buildings, walking downtown, against old buildings. There are a some great spots for an outdoor session that's more urban and less nature if that's what you're looking for!
